Lisa's actions
At Home
Water conservation
Think about water savings. Turn off water while brushing teeth, washing dishes. Get a rain barrel for watering plants. Load dishwasher to optimize water usage.
Belongings
Cruelty-free cleaning supplies
I will buy only those household cleaners (and cosmetics) that are NOT tested on animals. Animals are part of our environment and being kind to them is being kind to our environment. Most animal testing is not necessary and cruel. SO many great cruelty-free options these days.
Week 1 Focus: Recycling and Composting
Recycle Plastic Bags
Instead of trashing them, I will recycle 1 plastic bags by bringing them to a drop-off.
Week 1 Focus: Recycling and Composting
No More Wish-cycling
I will recycle the right materials by educating myself on what goes in the bin and keep other things out.

Lisa Neary 5/05/2021 9:05 AMAt Starbucks the other day (at Target, needed sustenance) and bought one of their sturdy reusable cups with top and straw for $3 and asked barista to fill that instead of using a throw-away cup. Now just keep it in my car with my reusable shopping bags so if I ever get a drink while shopping, no waste. -
Lisa Neary 5/05/2021 9:03 AMI wish there were an app for my phone. Is there? I think I'd be better about doing it daily if there were.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONWeek 1 Focus: Recycling and Composting Recycle Plastic BagsHas separating your plastic bags for recycling helped you identify how you might reduce how many you have? What are you doing differently now?
Lisa Neary 5/01/2021 7:51 AMRarely/never take plastic shopping bags. Always use cloth bags. Whatever plastic bags we do end up with get recycled without fail but taking them to Home Depot.
