Debbie Keyes 5/26/2021 10:45 AMHere’s a pet peeve of mine: recipes with directions for using parchment paper. Do you all remember when we were kids and parchment paper was fancy paper for writing on and we put a layer of butter or oil on our cookie sheets to reduce sticking? What was ever wrong with that thin film of oil that seriously only added few calories, and we burned a few if we actually had to scrub?
And another pet peeve: covering with plastic wrap. A plate, baking sheet, towel, reusable lid all work great. I use fry pan lids on bowls too. You can get second hand lids and baking sheets at the thrift store for less than the cost of a roll of plastic wrap, and never buy that stuff again! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBelongings Have a Zero-Waste DayWere there any moments that surprised you when you refused packaging items? What were the hardest items to avoid?
Debbie Keyes 5/01/2021 12:36 PMCannot avoid packaging with takeout food during Covid times. Therefore, we bought half as much takeout and supplemented with stuff at home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
