REFLECTION QUESTIONWeek 2 Focus: Packaging and Low-Waste Shopping Eat Food Before it SpoilsWhat types of foods are on your "eat this first" space in the refrigerator?
Amanda Jenson 5/19/2021 8:33 AMUsually, always leftovers first and we prioritize veggies and/or fruits that have a shorter shelf life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Skip the Paper PlatesWere you able to avoid using paper plates entirely? If not, what is holding you back and what could you change to make it possible?
Amanda Jenson 5/19/2021 8:32 AMMy family of 4 avoids paper plates entirely, but it does get tough if we're having a gathering to celebrate a birthday or something. We just don't have that many plates! In this case, I will try to purchase compostable plates in the future.-
Samantha Weatherston 5/28/2021 7:39 PMThis is what I did for some pre-covid birthday parties-- I went to Goodwill and bought plates and napkins from their party section. In some ways I feel this is cheating...I guess I am taking advantage of others' overpurchasing. My kids were fine with a mishmash of Batman, space theme, Snoopy, Happy Birthday, etc.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWeek 2 Focus: Packaging and Low-Waste Shopping Use a Grocery ListHow have you adjusted your habits to use a grocery list and account for things you already have at home? Do you use pen and paper, or have you gone digital?
Amanda Jenson 5/15/2021 7:46 PMWe still currently use a paper list that has a magnet on our refrigerator. But thinking about going digital so it can be updated anytime in real time.
